MMRA on YouTube
Back in 2005, MMRA worked out a deal with Empire Sports Network to air
eight half hour TV shows highlighting our 2004 Touring Series.
Unfortunately, after the first episode aired, Empire Sports Network went out
of business and the shows sat on the shelf back at MMRA.
Now a few years later, YouTube has made it easy to post video content so
we pulled the shows off the shelf and have begun uploading them to YouTube.
They have turned out to be something of a time capsule as you'll see racers
like Jacob France and Chad Willis just starting their careers in Future
Stars. Since then, Jacob has won three MMRA championships and Chad has
moved on to Late Model stock cars.
We have cut out the commercials, and YouTube limits videos to 10 minutes,
so in general we have reduced down to 2 - 10 minute videos per show.
Here is what you will see in each video:
Episode 1, Segment 1 - Here you will see the full intro for the show, and
also the famous interview with Carl Edwards the day after his big Craftsman
Truck series win at Daytona.
Episode 1, Segment 2 - This video features heat race action from Orlando
Speedworld at Speedweeks 2004. These were the very first Baby Grand
races under MMRA sanctioning. It's interesting to see all the cars had
old style bodies, and they still didn't have mufflers so they sounded very
buzzy.
Episode 2, Segment 1 - This video features minicup racing from the
now-closed Riverview Speedway and also an interview with Chad Willis who
earned his first Touring Series win in the Riverview Speedway Future Stars
feature.
Episode 2, Segment 2 - In this video you'll get to see the exciting Open
Division Feature race from Riverview Speedway and also get an up-close look
at both minicup and Baby Grand racecars.
