MMRA WELL REPRESENTED AT ASA LATE MODEL SERIES SEASON OPENER

MMRA PRO DIVISION - WITH ASA LATE MODELS AT O'REILLY RACEWAY PARK
MMRA partnered with the fast growing ASA Late Model Series for a second year at O'Reilly Raceway Park and this event was bigger and better than last year. There were more cars, great racing at the front of the field, and lots of smiles after the race. At the end of the day, MMRA also had two first time Touring Series winners, and a tightened points battle. Activities in the pits ran smoothly with Mardy and Neil Dunn doing a great job of managing tech and the pit area.
Over in the ASA Late Model pit area, we met former Future Stars champion Alison Quick in her ASA Late Model. She remarked "I've still got the minicup - and we even pulled it out of the garage after three years and still won a race!" She went on to finish 17th in the ASA Late Model race and it was neat to see memories of her MMRA minicup days still brought a smile to her face. Check out her website at www.alisonquick.com
Kasey Kahne was famous for a number of second place finishes in NASCAR before he finally broke into victory lane. This seems to be the same experience that Sean Saunders is having this season as he finished second in both races this weekend. That is now three second place finishes in five touring series events - all to different drivers! It won't be long before Sean gets the big trophy.
