The Speedweeks Special race at Orlando Speedworld was shaping up to be a
fantastic event. Racers from Indiana, Tennessee, Virginia, North
Carolina, Kentucky, Texas, Missouri, and Michigan were on hand to do battle
in sunny Florida. Unfortunately, in the end, rain put an end to the
event before the feature race could be run. Heat races over the first
two days of the event put on great shows for the fans, and also showed that
several drivers would be capable of winning the main event. The
morning of the race even saw Carl Edwards arrive excited about getting
behind the wheel of a Baby Grand stockcar again. Fresh off his win at
Daytona the night before, Carl arrived with about 1 hour of rest and an
awesome trophy that he is giving to a handicapped child - what a class act!
