Kimmel Wins the Cup. . . Again!
Early in the 2002 season, MMRA was excited to be included in the new
Valvoline Cup National Championship program. Our "Scaled Stock"
division included thousands of Legends cars, Bandoleros, Allison Legacy,
Baby Grand, Pro Challenge, Cup Lite, and dwarf cars.
Despite the competition, Will Kimmel won the inaugural year of the
Valvoline Cup in 2002 and took home the beautiful cup, cash, and national
recognition.
Now, he has done it again. Congratulations to Will Kimmel, Eastern
Open Division Champion on his back-to-back Valvoline Cup championships.
In fact, MMRA racers accounted for 3 of the top 5 in the Valvoline Cup
scaled stock division.
Each year the competition gets tougher, and so far MMRA racers are 2 for
2. Now in 2004, with both minicups and Baby Grand cars, it will be
slightly easier for MMRA racers to win the Valvoline Cup. If you are
an existing MMRA Open Division racer, you can add a Baby Grand to your
stable and run both our Open and PRO Divisions. This will give you
more potential races for the Valvoline Cup and the $1,000 cash that goes
with it.
