| The beautiful New River Valley
Speedway in Dublin, VA was supposed to host the final MMRA Touring Series
race in 2003. Unfortunately, mother nature finally caught up with our
tour and rained out the event. MMRA would like to thank each and every
racer that planned to or actually towed down to the race. Here are some questions and answers:
1. Will the race be rescheduled? No, every weekend between now
and the Grand National race in July would have some sort of conflict.
2. How does this affect the points? There will not be any
points awarded for the New River Valley Speedway touring series race.
As such, the rainout will not change the points standings - i.e. no one gets
points for entering or "showing up" on the day of the race.
3. Will MMRA do anything different for the 2004 season? Yes -
we are planning to schedule a "rain make up" date into our touring series.
Then if one of our tour races rains out, both the track and our racers will
know when and where the make up date will be.
4. What if the Grand National race rains out? All racers in
attendance (not just entered) will receive first place points. As
such, the relative standings for all in attendance will not change but
racers who didn't come to the event will still fall in the standings just as
if the race had been run. This will apply to both the east and west
Grand National races.
5. Why are the Grand National races treated differently than the New
River Valley Race? The Grand National races have always been different
than the touring or regional qualifier races because they count in every
racers final standings. Regardless of the weather outlook,
plan to join us for your Grand National race. With or without the race,
we will crown our champions and hold our awards banquet.
6. What if my question isn't answered here? Please send your
questions to pete@mmraracing.com We
will respond promptly.
